- The Berkley Public Library is a Carnegie Library and was completed in 1918. Improvements including installation of electricity, a heating system, and indoor plumbing were made later.
- Dighton Rock State Park is a park that holds the Dighton Rock, a boulder with petroglyphs of uncertain age and authorship, in a museum on an 85-acre site on the Taunton River. Trails and river views highlight the park.
- The Bridge Village Heritage Park at 70 Elm Street is a tiny park at the foot of the Berkley-Dighton Bridge on the Taunton River. It is a spot for fishing, picnicking, and putting in a canoe or kayak.

- Established in 1852 by a city ordinance, the New Bedford Free Public Library is among the earliest free municipal libraries in the United States.
- Built as a City Hall in the 1830’s, the present building was reconstructed after a fire in 1906. Once reconstruction was complete, the buildings switched permanently and is now home to significant historical holdings, including materials on Whaling, Quaker and 19th century Abolition Movement and museum-quality collection of fine art.
- The Library consists of the Main Library, and four branches. The Wilks, Howland-Green and Francis J. Lawler Branches were built with funds left in trust to the library by Sylvia Ann Howland-Green Wilks, whose mother was the famous financier Hetty Green. The Casa da Saudade Branch was built with a federal fund in 1971. The Main Library is open 64 hours per week and the branches are open 40 hours per week.

What is the Library Road Trip?
The SAILS Library Road Trip is a collaborative program taking place among 42 public libraries in the SAILS Library Network.
Don’t know SAILS? SAILS, Inc. runs and supports the Enterprise Online Catalog and Circulation systems for 66 libraries, schools, and branches throughout 38 communities in Southeastern Massachusetts. The SAILS mission is to provide resource sharing, direct & equal access, and meet every patron’s needs, through cooperation, leadership, & technology.

How do I participate in the Library Road Trip?
Stop by any participating library to get started and pick up your passport, or download it via this website. Your goal is to visit as many libraries as you would like and collect unique stamps on your passport at each one. Some libraries will have special events and prizes, but the experience will be different at each.

What events are going on and how do I participate?
During the Library Road Trip, libraries will be hosting various events with something fun for everyone! Read the event descriptions carefully, as some events may require registration, and some events might be limited to a particular age group.

Absolutely! However, only the libraries listed above as participating in the SAILS Library Road Trip will offer the opportunity to stamp your passport.
Who can participate in the SAILS Library Road Trip?
SAILS Library Road Trip is open to all ages and anyone can participate. You do not need to be a resident of any of the participating towns, or even a Massachusetts resident. You can visit libraries in whichever order you choose. The goal is to have fun and visit somewhere new!
